Father Of Missing RIT Student Thanks Those Involved In Search Effort

Authorities did not search on Sunday in Charlotte where they had been looking in recent days for 21 year old Max Maisel, the RIT student reported missing a week ago. There was no immediate word when that search will resume.

Divers had been in the water in that area earlier in the week. That is the area where Max was last seen and where his vehicle was found.

On Sunday evening, his father, ESPN sportswriter Ivan Maisel, tweeted this:

“We want to thank the Rochester Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies for their heroic work in severe conditions. While they have urged us not to leap to any conclusions about Max’s fate, logic indicates that it will not end well. We continue to be buoyed by the love and support of friends and family from across the country.”

Maisel is from Fairfield, Connecticut, and the family has vacationed in the Charlotte area for a number of years.
