A Gates man is dead following a motorcycle accident around 6 p.m. Wednesday on Dewey Avenue.
Rochester Police say a 28-year-old male from Gates was riding his motorcycle northbound on Dewey Avenue with two other motorcyclists when he struck a car trying to make a u-turn.
The driver of the car, a 61-year-old female from Rochester was attempting to make the u-turn in front of 1168 Dewey Avenue and drove into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist struck the driver side of her car and died at the scene.
The driver of the car was transported to Strong with facial and leg injuries, she was ticketed for an unsafe u-turn.
