Fatal fire in Rochester

Spectrum News

One person is dead after a fire in Rochester early Tuesday night.

Authorities say one man was pulled out of a house fire at 35 Hooker Street on the northeast side. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The fire was reported just after 7pm. The man who later died had been on the second floor of the house.

Two other people rescued from the home, who were on the first floor,  were not injured. Authorities say the smoke detectors in the building were not in working condition.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
