Fairport Names A New School Superintendent

The Fairport School District has named a new superintendent. He is Brett Provenzano, who has served as assistant superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for Fairport schools since July of last year.

He has been in the Fairport district since 2005. Before that, Provenzano served in educational roles in Newark, Pittsford and Webster.

Fairport Board President Marty Cardona says Provenzano was the unanimous choice of the board and she says he “is committed to our student-centered agenda and our core beliefs.”

Provenzano replaces interim Superintendent Bill Cala. Cala has retired from the superintendent’s job in Fairaport in 2006, and later served as interim superintendent in Rochester, before taking the interim job in Fairport.

Provenzano starts his new job in July.
