Rochester, NY – Nearly two years after announcing it will move downtown in the spring of 2010, construction is on schedule for the new headquarters for the ESL Federal Credit Union.
ESL Public Affairs Manager Francine Patella Ryan says while the exterior has been completed on the new building at 225 Chestnut Street, they're concentrating now on setting up all the intricacies of the internal design, such as furniture, rugs, and electrical wiring.
Patella Ryan says they're on target to move in to the new headquarters by the end of March 2010, and be up and running by April 1st.
When completed, the $50 million project will bring 300 ESL employees to downtown. Patella Ryan says ESL will also be adding jobs because a new ESL branch will also be located in the headquarters.
Everything on the building's exterior has been completed, with landscaping that needs to be done taking place in the spring. In the meantime, work on the building's garage and connecting steel bridges continues.
Patella Ryan says ESL believes in downtown Rochester, and wants to be a part of its resurgence. She adds the new structure will be environmentally safe, as ESL is committed to qualifying for LEED certification, and the latest "green" construction and building operation technologies.
