Eric Massa Concedes 29th District Race

Rochester, NY – Eight days after election day, the race for the 29th congressional district is over. Democrat Eric Massa said Wednesday afternoon that he's conceding defeat in his attempt to unseat Republican Randy Kuhl.

In a statement, Massa said he wanted to make sure all the votes had been counted, particularly given what he called an unusually high number of absentee ballots.

Massa says the counting process still isn't complete, but he says there are too few ballots yet to be counted to close the gap in the race.

Massa says he hasn't decided yet whether he'll challenge Kuhl again in two years.

Congressman Kuhl said he had no further comments on his victory beyond those he made last week.
