EPA's Top Priority on Earth Day: Climate Change

noaa.gov

Wednesday is Earth Day and the message from the Environmental Protection Agency is that climate change is here, and there is a lot we can do to address the issue but we need to get moving.

That's according to Judith Enck, Regional Administrator for the EPA.

"The time to debate climate change is in the rear view mirror, it is here, it is now, and we really need to work together on this," says Enck

Enck says there's a clear scientific consensus that climate change is here.

And individuals, government and business can all play a role in addressing the problem.

Enck says as individuals we can do a lot, including recycling, doing laundry in cold water, and changing the way we commute.

She says leaving the car at home just two days a week can prevent two tons of carbon pollution from going into the air each year.

But Enck says we really need to get moving on solutions to the problem of climate change.
