Dr. Anne Kress Begins as President of MCC

Brighton, NY – Dr. Anne Kress officially took over Monday as president of Monroe Community College.

Kress was unanimously appointed by the board of trustees two-months-ago to succeed interim President Larry Tyree.

Kress had been provost and vice president at Sante Fe College in Gainesville, Florida.

Kress says her first step is getting to know the college better. Kress says she'll do more listening than talking. In that way, she says she'll go to the table with information, not ready-made solutions that don't fit.

A reception was held in the morning to give Kress a chance to meet the college's faculty and staff.

One of Kress' priorities is have MCC play a bigger role in economic development.
