Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren says the city's deadline for developers to submit ideas for a key parcel for redevelopment in the center city has been pushed back.
Originally, the city issued a request for proposals for what is known as 'Parcel 5' with a deadline set for July 15th. Now, that date has been moved to September 9th.
Warren says some of the prospective developers for that former Midtown Plaza location have requested more time.
A committee will be established to review and rank all of the proposals that come in. That committee will eventually recommend a development option to the Mayor and City Council.
There have been ideas floated for a performing arts center, a casino, or a facility that would house both.
