Dawn Nguyen Trial Delayed

npr.org

The trial of a woman accused of buying the guns that a convicted felon was carrying when he shot and killed firefighters in West Webster last Christmas Eve has been delayed.

Jury selection for Dawn Nguyen was to have begun Tuesday morning, but it has now been delayed until next April.

Nguyen is charged with falsifying a business record. Prosecutors say she lied on a gun purchase form in 2010. They say she claimed a rifle and shotgun she bought were for her when they were really for ex-convict William Spengler Jr. She has denied the charges.

Spengler killed two firefighters and wounded three other first responders in Webster last December and killing himself during a gunfight with police.
