Governor Andrew Cuomo has made his sixth stop in a series of regional economic council assessments, touring projects in Rochester Tuesday.
The Finger Lakes region took home almost $68 million of the $785 million pot divvied up by the regional councils in December last year.
Cuomo says the state can’t provide a one-size-fits-all economic development template, it is up to each region to invest wisely in projects.
“There is no one template, it depends on where you are. And, I don’t know what you need to do, I really don’t. You know what you need to do, or, you are the only one that is equipped to figure out what you need to do,” he said.
The next round of funding from the regional councils is expected to be announced next month.
