Governor Cuomo maintains a sizeable lead over his GOP challenger Rob Astorino in the latest Siena Poll released on Monday. It shows Cuomo with a 60 to 23 percent advantage, among likely gubernatorial voters.

59 percent of those polled say Cuomo has made New York a better place to live, compared to 15 percent who say he’s made it worse and 21 percent who say it’s the same.

On other issues, voters are closely divided on viewing each house of the legislature favorably or unfavorably, although 65 percent of those polled say most state legislators do what’s best “for them and their political friends…”

By a 49 to 39 percent margin, voters want to see implementation of the Common Core standards stopped rather than continued.

Democratic incumbents  Comptroller Tom DiNapoli and Attorney General Eric Schniderman hold solid leads over their Republican challengers.
