Governor Cuomo is defending the state's policy of calling for a 21 day quarantine for people who have come into contact with an Ebola patient.
There has been some criticism of a policy announced recently by Cuomo and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie by public health officials and others who worry it might discourage health care workers from going to West Africa to fight Ebola.
During a campaign stop in Rochester Friday, Cuomo said it's a prudent way of dealing with this crisis.
"Stay at home for the 21 days and we will pay you to stay at home if your organization doesn't pay you and we'll send health care workers to you. In this situation I think that makes eminent sense"
Cuomo says a lot of New Yorkers agree with him. Also on Friday, a new Marist poll was released which shows that state voters overwhelmingly support a 21 day quarantine for people who have come into contact with an Ebola patient.
