Work on a new mixed-use development near East Henrietta and Westfall Roads is nearly underway.
CityGate will include retail, office and residential space.

Warehouse club Costco will anchor the site, according to developer Anthony J. Costello.

He says the 150-thousand square foot store will be part of the 250-million dollar project that is expected to create 250 to 300 full-time jobs.

CityGate will also include a hotel, 300 residential units, retail and commercial space.

Terms of a deal that would allow Costco to occupy more than 15 acres of the project are still under negotiation with the city.

Costello says Costco wants to begin operating by next spring, and the entire project should take four to five years to complete.
