Competitive Eaters "Wing" It

BUFFALO (AP)  Reigning chicken wing-eating champion Miki Sudo will defend her title against Joey Chestnut, Badlands Booker and Sonya ``The Black Widow'' Thomas at this year's National Buffalo Wing Festival.

Sudo, competitive eating's top-ranked female, cleared 178 wings in 12 minutes to claim the title last year.

The annual festival takes place in Buffalo, where chicken wings were invented, every Labor Day weekend. This year's celebrates the 50th anniversary of the finger food.

Organizers say 30 tons of wings were ordered, with 28 restaurants serving up 100 different varieties.

ESPN3 will carry the Major League Eating event live Sunday on its digital network.
