COMIDA Board Member Mark Siwiec Resigns

Mark Siwiec, a local realtor, has resigned his seat on COMIDA, the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency.

Siwiec sent a letter to the Chair of COMIDA, Theresa Mazzullo, saying that he is concerned the continuing controversy over the I-Square development in Irondequoit would call into question his personal integrity.

Siwiec told WXXI News he has done nothing improper and also does not believe other members of the board did anything improper.

Siwiec says he’s grateful to have served on the board, and feels the work it does, in terms of fostering public-private partnerships, is important for the Rochester area.

Siwiec works at Nothnagle Realtors, and has been on the board for about two years.  Siwiec is a Democrat who has campaigned for former Lt. Governor Bob Duffy.

Randy Gorbman is WXXI's director of news and public affairs. Randy manages the day-to-day operations of WXXI News on radio, television, and online.
