Color Run To Make A Splash On Saturday In Rochester

The Color Run is scheduled for downtown Rochester on Saturday morning and that will also mean some traffic detours.

The annual 5K race features stops where runners are doused with colored powder. This year's event is called "The Color Run Tropicolor," with the runners being bathed in an array of tropical colors. Organizers say it will raise money for a non-profit that supports teens and young adults who have cancer.

It begins at 8 a.m. at Frontier Field. Street closures will begin at 7:30 a.m. and re-open on a rolling basis. Most streets are expected to re-open by approximately 10:30 a.m.

The race begins at Frontier Field, proceeds southbound on Plymouth Avenue, turns east onto Main Street, south onto Clinton Avenue, east onto Elm Street, north onto Cortland Street, east onto Main Street, north on Franklin Street to Liberty Pole Way, west on Pleasant Street, south on Franklin Street, west on E. Main Street, north on State Street, west on Brown Street, south on Verona Street, and west on Platt Street, and ends at Frontier Field. For a map, visit www.thecolorrun.com/rochester.
