The College at Brockport has named a new president.
She is Heidi Macpherson, PhD, who is currently Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
She will be the first female president in Brockport's history, and the seventh overall. She starts in mid-July, replacing John Halstead who is retiring after 10 years in the job.
Macpherson has more than 20 years of experience in higher education as an author, professor and administrator in both the U.S. and England.
SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher says that "“As provost of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, she has implemented several programs that align with SUNY’s strategic plan and position the University’s students, faculty, and staff for success in a number of areas.”
