Clinton Emery Of Harter Secrest & Emery Has Died

Officials with the law firm of Harter Secrest & Emery say that partner R. Clinton Emery has died at the age of 86.

Emery joined the firm in 1954 when it was known as Strang, Wright, Combs, Wiser & Shaw. The firm says he started working on real estate deals, and then became a business lawyer working with Richard Secrest. Together, they helped build HSE into a full-service business law firm.

Emery retired in 1992, and served in leadership roles with several organizations including the Rotary.

Clint was a legend in the Rochester legal community and at our firm which proudly bears his name,” said HSE Managing Partner Craig  Wittlin. “Clint set an unwavering standard for client service and left an indelible footprint on our firm. All of us who had the opportunity of knowing and working with Clint will miss him greatly.”

Harter Secrest & Emery has offices in several cities including Rochester, Buffalo, Albany, Corning and New York City.
