Students in Spencerport are mourning a sophomore who died during the Thanksgiving holiday.
According to a statement provided by the school district, Benjamin Daley, 15, died from an ATV accident in Pennsylvania. The statement offers no details.
Daley is being remembered as an Honor Roll student and soccer player. The statement says he was well liked and respected by students and staff at Spencerport High School.
The school release says the family asks for privacy, and that no additional information be released.
Principal Sean McCabe offered condolences in a statement, saying, "We are heartbroken at the loss of Ben. There are truly no words to express our grief and we offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends. We hope the overwhelming support will hopefully provide some comfort during this most difficult time."
Counselors were available at the high school Saturday morning to support Ben's family, friends and staff.
Classmates are encouraging each other to wear the school colors of blue and gold on Monday in honor of Benjamin.
Daley's soccer team posted a tribute on its website.
