Chris Matthews To Give University Of Rochester Commencement Address

Chris Matthews, the TV political commentator perhaps best known for his show, "Hardball with Chris Matthews" on MSNBC has been tapped to deliver this year's commencement address at the University of Rochester.

That will happen on Sunday, May 18th and it will also be webstreamed live.  University President Joel Seligman says he's thrilled that Matthews has accepted the invitation to speak, saying that he "provides insights and perspectives that enrich our understanding of current issues, including the challenges our May graduates will face."

Matthews career includes serving as a presidential speechwriter, and he was top aide to Speaker of theHouse Tip O'Neill in the 1980s. He began his television career in 1994 and launched Hardball three years later.
