Chase Layoff Notices Go Out

en.wikipedia.org

Layoff notices went out to nearly 350 local employees at JP Morgan Chase in Rochester this week.

The company confirms the actual notices went out on Thursday, although the employees had initially been told in January that the cuts were coming. The employees work in the mortgage banking business at the Chase Tower.

Chase says that as the U.S. economy improves, it has meant fewer people have needed refinancing and other mortgage services, and that's meant less demand for that business unit

Those jobs are expected to end this summer. Chase has been working on trying to help those affected apply for other jobs within the company’s operations nationwide
