Celebrating The 4th All Over Town

There are a number of activities going on around our area on July 4th, including the largest fireworks display in the area which happens in Rochester.

Activities in the city kick off Friday night at 7:30 with a jazz performance on the Main St. Bridge by the local band Shine. The RPO will follow with a performance of patriotic favorites from 9 to 10:15 p.m. feature the fireworks display at 10 p.m.

Recommended viewing areas include the Main St. and Broad St. bridges, Chestnut St.  near  the Washington Square Garage and nearby streets. Free parking is available at the Court Street, South Avenue, Sister Cities and Washington Square garages.

One of the larger July 4th parades in our area is in Irondequoit. It starts at 11 a.m. on Friday and moves along Titus Avenue. Irondequoit also has fireworks at 9:30 p.m. behind the town hall.

The Town of Greece will have a fireworks show and other activities at the town hall campus. The town has not had regular July 4th activities during two of the last four years. The fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m.
