Singer and songwriter Carole King was making the rounds in Rochester Sunday to go to events designed to boost the chances of Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in Tuesday's election.

They're often called surrogates on the campaign trail; notable politicians, people in the entertainment industry, and other personalities out stumping for the candidates to help get a broader reach, since a candidate can only be so many places on any given day.

Pop icon Carole King has been doing some of that for Hillary Clinton recently, and she made a stop at Cornhill Landing  on Sunday along with Congresswoman Louise Slaughter and Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul.

King focused her comments on the environment, saying that Clinton shares her concerns about the Northern Rockies, which the region where Carole King lives.

“They’re cutting down trees at taxpayers’ expense, which is money you’re not getting for your area, and second of all, we find that a protected Northern Rockies would contribute to mitigating climate change.”

Stumping for Hillary Clinton on Monday will be her husband, former President Bill Clinton, who will kick off a phone bank event in Rochester at Monroe County Democratic Headquarters in the afternoon. Governor Cuomo will also be at that event.

And daughter Chelsea Clinton will be at the National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls Monday morning.

Clinton is battling Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination.  Both candidates have been in the Rochester area over the last several days.
