An unusual string of events included a man suffering serious burn injuries in a crash following a reported hit-and-run accident in Rochester on Tuesday night.
Police say the victim of the hit-and-run was following the suspect’s vehicle and reporting it to a dispatcher and at some point, the suspect crashed into a light pole at the intersection of South Avenue and Griffith Street.
Reportedly witnesses tried to pull the man out of the car, but it took firefighters to get him out. Police say he was burned over a large portion of his body and his injuries are life threatening.
While crews were at the scene, someone with a gunshot wound approached the ambulance crew and that person was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police say the two incidents are unrelated.
