Canandaigua Police say gas pump skimmer may have captured thousands of transactions

Canandaigua Police say a lot of people may have been affected by a gas pump ‘skimmer’ placed inside a pump at the APlus Mini Mart at 484 South Main St. in Canandaigua. A skimming device can capture personal information from your credit or debit card.

Officers say it could have been implanted as far back as November 2017 and they think it could have captured more than 2,000 transactions. The device was discovered on May 20th

Police say if you think you have used pump #1 at that station during that time, contact Canandaigua Police so that they can verify if your name was discovered on the skimming device.

The detective leading the investigation is Detective Mastracy and he can be reached by email at:

PMF@canandaiguanewyork.gov  or if you don’t have access to email you can call Sergeant Lawrence at 585-337-2106
