CHAMPLAIN (AP)  Drivers heading to Canada this holiday weekend should be prepared for busy border crossings.

The U.S. Columbus Day weekend coincides with Canadian Thanksgiving, with both holidays celebrated on Monday.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials expect an increase in border traffic starting this weekend. They expect the busy period to last through next weekend.

Border officials remind international travelers to anticipate delays and prepare accordingly.
