Congresswoman Louise Slaughter says her office has been flooded with calls from constituents and people in her district who are concerned about their country since the election, and if there is anything they can do.

Slaughter, speaking from her Rochester office, says there's been a 400 percent increase in the number of calls to her local office since election day, and a 663 percent rise in the number of calls to her Washington office.

She says some days the phone never stops ringing.

"They are totally focused on what they are concerned about. Some are about the ACA, some are about defunding Planned Parenthood. There are numbers of people concerned about schools. There are a lot of people who depend on some non-profits for some of the things they live on, as well as a lot of people that work for them, not knowing what lies in store for them," she said. "

Slaughter says many people are calling her office about their concerns and asking what they can do.

She says that shows people have a very strong feeling that we have a country to save.

According to Slaughter's office, callers have addressed many topics, including supporting her efforts to oppose the executive order on immigration, voicing their concerns about Steve Bannon's appointment to the National Security Council, and volunteering their time to help "fight Trump."
