Brockport Volunteer Ambulance closes up operations

brockportambulance.org

Brockport Volunteer Ambulance says it has closed up shop.

The volunteer corps released a statement on its Facebook page which said that as of 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, it stopped providing primary ambulance service to the Village of Brockport and secondary service to the Towns of Clarkson and Sweden.

The organization says that many circumstances led to the difficult decision, including limited call volume, reduced revenue, the need to relocate to a new base of operations and not enough volunteers to support the agency.

Brockport Volunteer Ambulance says that with other factors including getting payment from insurers and increased overall expenses, it can no longer provide a 24/7 service.

Officials say that Monroe Ambulance will now provide primary ambulance service in Brockport when residents dial 911.
