Brighton Police Charge MCC Student With Rape At A Dorm

Brighton Police say they've charged an MCC student with rape at a dorm at that college campus.

Police arrested 19 year old Patrick Leberth of Kendall, in Orleans County, following an investigation into allegations of a sexual assault which occurred over several days in a dorm room at MCC.

Authorities say that the victim in this case is not a current student.

Leberth faces charges that include three counts of Rape in the 1st degree, 5 counts of Criminal Sexual Act  in the 1st degree, 2 counts of Sexual Abuse in the 1st degree and 1 count of unlawful imprisonment in the 2nd degree.

Leberth is being held in the county jail without bail pending further court action. 

A statement from MCC says the college is "Monroe Community College is fully cooperating with the Brighton Police Department’s investigation of these very serious charges. While the investigation is ongoing, we will not comment on the case."  

They referred further questions to Brighton Police who are not releasing additional details at this time.
