Boys and Girls Club in Rochester marks 2nd anniversary of mass shooting

Spectrum News

Saturday marks two years since the mass shooting outside the Boys and Girls Club on Genesee St. in Rochester that killed three people and left several others injured.

The club is closed Saturday in observance of the anniversary.

But on Friday night, children from the club gathered to create posters in memory of the youths who were killed. The posters were hung outside the club.

A statement on the club’s Facebook page marked the anniversary:

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester family continues to hold a place in our heart for Jonah Barley, Raekwon Manigault, Johnny Johnson and their families and friends who also continue to mourn their loss. Two years ago today we were robbed of three young men who won’t have the opportunity to show their community how powerfully their light would have shone. As you go through your day today, please remember Jonah, RaeRae, and Johnny. Always on our minds, forever in our hearts.
