Body Recovered From Lake Ontario Near Charlotte

TWC News

The U.S. Coast Guard on Friday night recovered the body  of what appeared to be a young man on Lake Ontario, about 200 yards away from the Coast Guard Station in Rochester.

A fisherman discovered the body around 7:30 p.m. Friday.

A U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer tells Time Warner Cable News, the body was that of a white man wearing a black North Face jacket and black pants. The petty officer estimated he was 22-23 years of age.

There has been no positive identification yet. The body was turned over to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s office.

RIT student, 21 year old Max Maisel, has been missing since late February when he was last seen on Charlotte Pier. An earlier missing person alert said that Maisel was last seen wearing a black North Face jacket.

The D&C quoted Maisel’s father Ivan, on Friday night, as saying they are awaiting the findings of the medical examiner, and he told the newspaper that “We assume we will be able to bring Max home soon.”
