Boating advisory for Canandaigua and Honeoye Lakes

www.co.ontario.ny.us

Ontario County Sheriff Phil Povero says that boating advisories for Canandaigua and Honeoye Lakes will remain in place through the weekend.

Boaters are asked to reduce speeds and watch for debris due to high water levels.

He says that Honeoye Lake is 11 inches above normal height of 503.5 feet.  Some docks are under water.

Ontario and Yates deputies urge boaters to observe caution due to floating debris.

Boaters are urged to operate their vessels at no more than 5 miles per hour within 200 feet of shore on Canandaigua Lake.
