Bausch+Lomb Building To Be Renamed "Legacy Tower"

Buckingham Properties

The former Bausch+Lomb headquarters building in downtown Rochester is being renamed Legacy Tower.

The building is owned by Buckingham Properties, which, along with Morgan Management, purchased the building last June.  Buckingham CEO Larry Glazer and his wife Jane Glazer died in a plane crash last September.

Buckingham officials say the name Legacy Tower was selected to pay tribute to Bausch+Lomb's significant contribution to Rochester's heritage and growth as well as to honor Larry and Jane Glazer's lasting legacy to the downtown landscape.

“Bausch & Lomb Tower was the last building my father added to our portfolio,” said Kenneth Glazer, Managing Partner of Buckingham Properties. “The acquisition and future success of the property falls in line with the vision my father and mother shared for an active and vibrant downtown.”

One of the property's main tenants, Harter Secrest & Emery recently signed a 15 year lease to renew and expand their operations in that building.  The building is currently about 60 percent occupied and Buckingham officials say there is a lot of interest now from companies who want to locate downtown.
