Batavia Hospital Has To Temporarily Divert Some Emergency Patients

A problem with flooding in a lab has forced some temporary changes at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

It happened early  Tuesday morning, and a hospital spokeswoman says because the lab is needed to process emergency room patients, the ER was temporarily closed to new patients. Instead, they will be diverted to nearby hospitals until the issue is resolved.

Most other hospital departments are functioning, but surgery at the Batavia hospital was delayed for a couple of hours.
