Rochester, NY – Rochester Police say a physical confrontation led to a shooting early Thursday morning that left a Rochester man dead and another under arrest.
Police Chief David Moore says 36-year-old Gerrell Phillips of Rochester has been charged with second degree murder in the shooting of 37-year-old Corey Jones.
Police were called to 120 Shelter Street at about 1:20 a.m. for a report of a person shot, and they found Jones there. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators found that Phillips and Jones had been involved in a verbal dispute that turned physical and allegedly led to the shooting.
Phillips faces arraignment in City Court Friday morning.
