TWC News

Rochester Police have made an arrest in connection with the death of a liquor store owner on South Avenue.

On Friday, police announced the arrest of 59 year old Kevin Quander of the city. Authorities say Quander is currently on parole for robbery.

He is now facing charges of 1st degree murder and 1st degree robbery.  He is accused in the death of  46 Charlotte Lahr of Greece.

She was the owner of Char’s South Avenue Wine & Liquor. Police found her seriously injured when they got a call about a robbery at her store late Thursday afternoon.

TWC News says that according to court paperwork Quander forcibly robbed the victim at knifepoint inside the store, then beat her to death with a wine bottle.

A not guilty plea was entered at Quander's arraignment Saturday morning in court. He's being held without bail.
