Harris Corporation, which has operations locally, says that the U.S. Army has recertified a model of its airborne radio, validating that the radios are airworthy for use in Army helicopters.
The radios will be made in Rochester. Harris moved production to the company’s Jefferson Road Operations Center manufacturing facility.
Harris says that with more than 7,000 radios fielded, the ARC-201D model is a workhorse communication system for Army rotorcraft.
