Army Helicopters Arrive Here for Reassembly

Five CH-47 Chinook heavy lift helicopters that were used extensively in Afghanistan are arriving at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Rochester by cargo plane.
Chief Warrant Officer Five Mike Zanghi is at the facility and has flown the aircraft.
He says it's a helicopter that has played a very important role since the U-S went into Afghanistan.
The CH-47 Chinook can haul more than 30 soldiers and 28-thousand pounds of cargo.
Zanghi says, for the first time, the aircraft have been brought here to be reassembled for future use
He says it could take up to a month or two to fully reassemble the helicopters.
In addition to extensive use in Afghanistan, the aircraft has also played an important role in responding to domestic emergencies like Hurricane Sandy, and Tropical Storms Irene and Lee.
