Update: 5:16 p.m: The RPO issued a release stating that Remmereit will not be conducting the next two programs, as originally scheduled. The RPO secured Yoav Talmi and Andrew Constantine to take the podium for programs that will celebrate Mozart's 257th birthday.

Quiet for weeks, Arild Remmereit will speak about his termination as music director of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.

Remmereit will discuss the situation between him and the RPO during a news conference at the Rochester Public Library's Gleason Auditorium on Thursday at 5:30. WXXI News will be at the news conference, being organized by a group called the "RPO Community Supporters".

On November 29, the RPO Board terminated Remmereit's contract effective at the end of the current season, ending the agreement two years early. RPO Board Chair Elizabeth Rice issued a short statement regarding the contract termination to the media, and appeared on Need to Know Rochester to explain the situation
