This Sunday afternoon, Arild Remmereit will conduct a special benefit concert in Rochester. Mr. Remmereit spoke with Jeanne Fisher about the concert and his plans for the future. He has just returned from a conducting engagement in Germany.

This weekend the former RPO Music Director will conduct the Rochester Chamber Orchestra… probably his last concert in Rochester before relocating to Europe.

Since his contract with the Rochester Philharmonic ended on January 24th, Remmereit has been doing a lot of what he calls “stunt conducting,” which is filling in for other conductors who become ill and cannot perform.

After the Rochester concert this weekend, he has engagements in Mexico City and Naples, Florida. Then Remmereit and his family will return to home to Vienna, where he was based before coming to Rochester. He will be returning to the United States in the fall, for guest conducting engagements in Baltimore and Buffalo.

Arild Remmereit will conduct the Rochester Chamber Orchestra this Sunday afternoon at 3:00 in the Hochstein Performance Hall on North Plymouth Avenue.
