Today a local organization signed a memorandum of understanding with its 20 partner agencies to renew their commitment to providing services and treatment for child victims of sexual and physical abuse.
Bivona Child Advocacy Center Executive Director Mary Whittier says the organization is trying to bring attention to the issues of child abuse intervention and prevention. Bivona Child Advocacy Center provided treatment and services to more than 1,500 children in 2012 alone. Whittier says child abuse is an epidemic in our community and across the nation.
