Another Plea In Monroe County's LDC Case

There's been another plea in the case involving the bid rigging case centering around Local Development Corporations in Monroe County.

On Wednesday, Nelson Rivera, the county's former information technology director, pleaded guilty to two felony counts.  Rivera's plea comes a week after Robert Wiesner, ex-security director at the county water authority and the husband of former County Executive Maggie Brooks also entered a guilty plea.

The NYS Attorney General's Office recommended Rivera get five years probation and pay a $25,000 fine. He would also have to give up his right to pension benefits and would not be able to seek employment again in the public sector.

With Wednesday's plea, there is just one defendant left, Daniel Lynch, who at this time, is scheduled for a trial on February 23rd.
