An event next summer is designed to raise funds to battle diabetes -- something organizers call the health care crisis of the 21st century.
It's called Tour de Cure, and bicycle riders could register on Cyber Monday for only 5 dollars, according to Travis Heider, executive director for the American Diabetes Association in upstate New York.
He says this will be Rochester's largest cycling event, and is among the top 5 Tour de Cure events in the country.
The registration also includes a wellness pass for Midtown Athletic Club which includes training classes leading up to the event next June.
Heider says riders next June can participate in everything from a three-mile casual family ride to a 100 mile Century ride from MCC to Conesus Lake and back.
