A Canandaigua man escaped injury after his seaplane flipped over on Canandaigua Lake on Saturday morning.
Media reports indicate that 71 year old Joseph Bell had landed his Cessna seaplane and was preparing to take off again when it flipped over.
He was the only one in the plane and was able to free himself. Some nearby residents saw what happened and brought Bell to shore.
An Ontario County Sheriff’s Department boat secured the plane and it was towed to shore.
