Rosa Wims began serving a pre-Thanksgiving meal in a one room storefront back in 1985.
She served up a meal with all the trimmings to small group of people.
Wims says they served 300 people last year, and it's expected 400 people will take part this year.
Wims is the first African-American nurse's aide to Rochester General Hospital.
She's also founder and former Executive Director of the Faith Community Health Awareness, where she began distributing food and clothing to those in need.
Wims has dedicated her life to serving others.
Now at age 93, she says this year will be her last organizing the event.
Wims admits she said the same thing last year, but she maintains it's time to "hang up her coat."
But she says if there's a need, she'll be happy to come back next year.
Foodlink has partnered with Rosa Wims for the event the past ten years.
Director of Community relations for Foodlink, Terra Keller, says staff makes and prepares the food, and joins other volunteers at the event.
As for Rosa's retirement, Keller says Wims has said that before, but they hope to continue the tradition in her name.
