A small school bus flipped over on the Inner Loop near the 490 overpass at 9:10 Tuesday morning after colliding with an SUV. Fourteen students were aboard on their way to School No. 2 in the Rochester City School District. Injuries were minor.
Police say the school bus had the right of way. It was crossing State Street toward the on-ramp to 490 westbound when it was struck by an SUV traveling southbound on State Street. The driver of the SUV ran a red light. The passenger of the SUV, the bus driver, and three students who were aboard the bus were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.
The Inner Loop reopened shortly before noon between Allen and Commercial Streets.
