Pittsford’s Abby Wambach has another honor to put on her shelf. And this one is a new Barbie doll made in her likeness. It was unveiled Wednesday and toymaker Mattel made up the doll showing Wambach wearing her white Team USA uniform and Number 20 jersey.

On her Instagram account Wambach wrote,  “Nothing quite like getting your own @Barbie doll!! Legit I am honored. maybe she needs a wetsuit to go surfing? (Aka, paddle and never get up) #beachbarbie #sickhair.“

The 35 year old Wambach, an Olympic champion and part of last summer’s winning World-Cup U.S. team, recently retired from soccer as the leading goal scorer in American soccer among both men and women.

Wambach told the Democrat&Chronicle, “This proves we are really getting somewhere." Mattel recently announced new dolls with more diverse body styles.
