2nd Person Charged In Connection With Genesee Mass Shooting

Rochester Police say they have charged a second person in connection with the shooting on Genesee St. near the Boys & Girls Club that took  3 lives and injured 4 others.

On Tuesday, police charged 20 year old Jalen Jamel Everett of the city with Murder in the 1st degree in connection with that drive-by shooting on August 19th.

He is accused of participating in the killing of Raekwon Manigault, Johnny Johnson Jr. and Jonah Barley.

Everett was arrested September 29th by RPD officers at the Buffalo Airport, where they say he was trying to leave the state.

At that time he was charged with possession of stolen property relating to a stolen laptop computer. He has been in custody on that charge since that time.

Last month, police also arrested Johnny Blackshell Jr. of Chili on a murder charge.

RPD says this remains a very active investigation and additional charges and arrests are possible. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 311, or Crimestoppers at 423-9300
