Fairport police say a father shot and killed his adult daughter, who had disabilities, before taking his own life Wednesday morning.
According to Spectrum News, Fairport Police Chief Sam Farina says 60-year-old John Beilman killed his daughter, 27-year-old Nicole Beilman, in the backyard of 19 Williamsburg Drive in the Village of Fairport.
Police say he then killed himself.
Officials say Nicole suffered from Rett syndrome, a degenerative neurological disease, and was confined to a wheelchair.
Chief Farina says they did find a suicide note from John to his wife, Donna, though he wouldn't go into much detail about it.
Farina said the note will be a part of their ongoing investigation as they look for a motive.
